"Jim" Robert James Herbert Ridenhour

Jim (Robert James Herbert) Ridenhour of Belle, Missouri went home to be with the Lord on November 19, 2021, at his home.

Jim was born to Herbert and Pearl (West) Ridenhour on October 13, 1939. On June 23, 1963 he wed Judy Mitchem at Pilot Knob Baptist Church and had four children.

Jim spent his entire life in the Belle area and worked for the railroad for 43 years until he retired in October of 2001.

During his younger years, he loved spending time on the Gasconade River and putting out trout lines. Another favorite past time was hunting deer. Once his great grandchildren arrived, spending time with them became his favorite past time. Jim loved them dearly.

Jim was preceded in death by both parents and one son, Jerry Lynn Ridenhour; two brothers, Hadley Mac Ridenhour and Ronnie Lee Paul Ridenhour; and one sister, Shirley Hazel Ridenhour.

Jim is survived by his wife Judy of the home; daughter, Tina and her husband Ward Sooter of Bland, Missouri; two sons, Paul and his wife Sherry of Belle and Clay and Jill Reck also of Belle; two brothers, Stanley and his wife Della of High Gate and Gary and his wife Cathy of Belle; one sister, Audrey Holliday and her husband Melvan of Russellville; one sister-in-law, Deanna Ridenhour of Belle; six grandchildren, Meagan Lewis and husband Derek of Belle, Whitney Sooter of Belle and her fiancé Gary Hitch of St. James, Nathan Ridenhour and his wife Brittany, Dalton Ridenhour and his wife Shelby of Belle, Cheslee Ridenhour of Belle, and Nolan Ridenhour of Belle; and five great-grandchildren, Emilyn, Liam Kaylor and Huxley Lewis and Brooklyn Ridenhour as well as well as many extended family members and friends. He will be missed greatly by his family.

Visitation for Jim will be on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at the Pilot Knob Baptist Church from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with interment in the church cemetery.

I worked with Jim while he was with Union Pacific . He definitely was a great person to be around. The evening before he retired we had a derailment and he showed up to work. The General Director vwas there and asked Jim what he was doing there . Jim said working. The Director said don't you retire tomorrow he said yes sir but it ain't tomorrow. The Director told me to make sure he didn't do anything except drink coffee and eat in the kitchen trailer. I told the Director that I was gonna need help keeping him away from the work. He was always there when he was needed. Prayers for you all during this time in your lives
