Aileen Hazel Valley

Aileen Hazel Valley, age 61, of Bland passed away on September 30, 2019 at her residence.

She was born on July 2, 1958, in St. Louis, a daughter to the late Charles and Ruby (Cox) Skaggs.  

On October 15, 1979, Aileen was united in marriage James Valley at the First Baptist Church in Belle. James survives of the home.

Aileen was a homemaker which was a job she enjoyed to the fullest. She loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. Aileen also enjoyed fishing, playing cards, watching NCIS, and could be found playing Bingo at the V.F.W. hall in Owensville every Friday night. She will be missed greatly by her family, friends and all that knew and loved her.

In addition to her husband, Aileen is survived by: two daughters, Salina Sharp and her husband Andy of Sullivan and Shirley Crider and her husband Kevin of Lima, Il;  10 grandchildren, Katie Jo, Carl, Jamie, Falina, Drew, Alyssa, Dakota, Jessalynn, Stevie, and Dane; 2 great-grandchildren, Devin and Noah; six siblings, Shirley Shaw and her husband Shorty of Bland, Charlene Keenan and her husband Charlie of Sullivan, Frank Skaggs and his wife Vicky of Owensville, Melody Enke and her husband Gary of Owensville, Brenda Curtis and her husband Leo of Owensville, and Bert Skaggs of Sullivan as well as many extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by one son, Steven Valley, one granddaughter, Manda, and two sisters, Lucille and Judy.  

Visitation for Aileen will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Sassmann’s Chapel in Bland. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Bart Larson officiating. Interment will be in the Bourbon City Cemetery.  

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family for the purchase of a monument.
