Alma "Kay" James of Belle died Thursday morning, December 31, 2009, in the Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. Kay has suffered from failing health for the last few years. She was 65. Kay was born on December 16, 1944, in Jonesburg, Missouri. She is the daughter of the late Wilbur Sylvester Litteral and Altha Amerline Harlan Litteral. Kay was married to Roy D. James in 1961.
Surviving Kay is her husband Roy and three sons Russell James with his wife Rita of New Haven, Ronald James with his wife Becky of Belle, and Larry James with his wife Diane also of Belle. There are eight grand children and four great grand children. Also surviving are nine brothers and sisters Wilma Dusenberg of Jonesburg, Kenny Littrell of Warrenton, OH, George Littrell of Hermann, Melba York of Raymondville, Mary Lou Edler of Hermann, Betty Roberts of Lincoln, Tuttie Edler of New Florence, Lizzie Devlin of New Florence, and Bill Littrell of Warrenton.
Kay is preceded in death by a sister, Alice Cramer.
Kay and Roy moved from the Owensville/Hermann area to Belle twenty years ago. Kay worked as a care giver providing personal home health care. She had the kindest, gentlest heart and shared that with those she knew. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother and will be missed deeply by those who knew her. She was a member of the Pilot Knob Baptist Church.
