BettyAnn F. Gieck, age 63 of Belle, passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2019, at the Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
BettyAnn was born January 14, 1956, in College Grove, OR, a daughter to the late Elmer and Dixie (Cutsforth) Sakkinen.
On June 30, 1979 BettyAnn was united in marriage to Thomas Gieck in Bland. Thomas survives of their home near Belle.
BettyAnn was an area resident for over 40 years. She enjoyed fishing, doing word puzzle books and interacting on social media with her family and friends. BettyAnn was an animal lover and had many pets around the house that she cared for. Her greatest joy was time spent with her family.
In addition to her husband of almost 40 years, BettyAnn is survived by: one brother, Dan Sakkinen and his wife Brenda of Jefferson City; one sister Jeri Mistler and her husband Brian of Belle; nine nieces and nephews, Garry, Parker, Cherie James and her husband Chad, Patrick Mistler and his wife Trish, Heather Lanning and her husband Tony, Jennifer Sakkinen, Derrick DiNatale, Christopher Mistler and his wife Katie, and Forest Sakkinen; seven great-nieces and nephews, Adelynn, Teagan, Mason, Oliver, Koralynn, Maebri, and David; her mother and father-in-law, Boyd and Betty Gieck; and one sister-in-law, Mary DiNatale and her husband Doug as well as many extended family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, BettyAnn is preceded in death by, three brothers, Michael and Billy Sakkinen who passed as infants, and Carl Sakkinen.
Visitation for BettyAnn will be on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Sassmann’s Chapel in Belle. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor David Roth officiating. Interment will be in the Schanning Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be made the Schanning Cemetery Fund.
