Bonnie Shanks

Bonnie Shanks, age 73, of Belle, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital in St. Louis.

Bonnie was born March 15, 1943, in St. Louis, a daughter to the late Lloyd Tyree and Ruby (Enloe) Stewart.

On November 19, 1960, in Owensville, Bonnie was united in marriage to Melvin Allen Shanks, who survives in Belle.

In addition to her husband, Bonnie is survived by: a son, Scott Shanks of St. Louis; two sisters, Brenda McElfresh of Salem, Betty Bickmeyer and her husband Norbert of O'Fallon and step brother Ron Tyree and wife Teresa of Salem; three nephews, Dr. Ed Bickmeyer and family, Charles McElfresh and family, and Chris McElfresh and family; a niece, Cherri Reidenbach and family, as well as many great nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Bonnie's Life will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2015, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Belle-Bland Community Center in Belle with snacks, deserts, coffee and tea provided.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the ALS Foundation.
