Buena Fay Butler of Belle died peacefully Friday evening, December 3, 2010, in her own home surrounded by family. She had been suffering from cancer for the last several years. Fay was born on February 8, 1924, in Linn. She is one of nine children born of the late Charles Edward "Bob" Party and Rachel Mae Kemple Party. On August 24, 1940, Fay was married to Ervin Butler in Belle and to his union five children were born.
Surviving Fay are two sons Leroy with his wife Sue and Kenneth with his wife Joy all of Belle and two daughters Debbie Weller with her husband Jerry of Belle and Carolyn Massmann with her husband Stan of Hermann. Also surviving are two brothers Elmer "Ray" Party with his wife June of Belle and James "Gus" Party with his wife Velda of Linn and one sister Tillie Hackman of New Florence. There are nine grand children Trina Thompson with her husband Dave, Chris Nilges with her husband Mark, Doug Butler and wife Jimi, Frank Butler and wife Cindy, Shelia Hamm with her husband Greg, Jerry Dean Weller and wife Jessie, Curtis Weller, Stacey Algren with her husband Adam, Kevin Massmann and wife Monica. Fay's great grand children number 17 and a great great grand daughter is the fifth generation of Ervin and Fay.
Fay is preceded in death by her husband Ervin who passed away on February 8, 1996. Also preceding Fay is a son Charles Eugene Butler, four brothers Ed, Charles "Roy", Donald, and Bill Party, and one sister Ida.
Fay was a wife, mother, and favorite grandmother. She took good care of her family and her many friends. Fay was of a generation that will be missed and will never be replaced.
