Charles Michael Mahaney, age 74, went to heaven on Monday, March 10, 2025, at 12:19 a.m. surrounded by his loving family.
Mike was born January 25, 1951, at their family home to the late Ivan and Mae (Wilson) Mahaney.
He was a member of the class of 1968 of Belle High School.
Mike entered the United States Army in June of 1969 and proudly served until his honorable discharge on January 27, 1972. During his service time, Mike served in Vietnam. He was a motor transport operator for the Army.
During Mike’s working life he was employed by John Deere and retired from the Rolla, MO location in 2014.
Mike enjoyed collecting John Deere pedal tractors and pedal cars. He enjoyed old cars and could always be found tinkering on something. He played many hours of solitaire on his phone. His greatest enjoyment was time with his family. He enjoyed playing with the grandsons and teasing back and forth with his granddaughter.
Mike is survived by his wonderful wife of 50 years, Ida (Lange). They were married on April 6, 1974. To this union two sons were born, Kent and his wife Tammy, and Kerry Dean Mahaney. He has 6 grandchildren, Chase, Landon, Gracie, Carson, Carter, and Brock Mahaney. Mike has 2 sisters, Bonnie and her husband Donnie and Mary Ann Honse. Sister-in-laws, Judy Siegler and Brenda Lange, and a brother-in-law, Arlen and wife Marilyn Lange. Mike is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends and extended family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Herman and Zelma Lange, his brothers, Roger Mahaney, Norman “Chub” and his wife Sharron Mahaney, Theodore “Ted” Mahaney, Jerry and his son Donnie Mahaney, Robert “Bob” and his wife Brenda and son Robbie Mahaney, John Mahaney, brothers-in-law Danny Honse, Bill Siegler, and Melvin Lange.
Mikes services will be held Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Highgate Baptist Church where Mike was baptized at an early age. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until noon. Services will begin at noon. Full military honors will be performed following the service. Pallbearers will be special friends, Arthur Maness and Joey Ridenhour. Keeping with Mikes wishes of cremation, his cremains will be laid to rest at Skaggs Chapel Cemetery at a later date.
