Cheryl Ann “Cherri” Marquart, 61, of Belle was a caring wife, mom, nana and everyone’s favorite nurse. She entered the gates of heaven on Friday, October 14, 2022, after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer.
She was born to Charlie and JoAnn (Niederer) Creason on August 28th, 1961 in Troy, Missouri. They moved to Belle in 1967 where she attended school. After graduating Belle High School in 1979, Cherri attended nursing school. A calling and career that she continued for 41 years.
She met her future husband, Craig in the high school gym during a heating failure in the high school. They would marry on October 18, 1980. Together, they had two daughters: Amy and Ashley.
Cherri was an ardent supporter of both her church and community. She believed that it was important to invest yourself in the community in which you live. Throughout her life she served as a Sunday School teacher, church pianist/organist and was a member of the pastor search board for Pilot Knob Baptist Church. She also volunteered as a community and project leader for Hawkeye 4-H Club, was a Belle Fair Board member, served on the executive board for Partners in Education and was a member of the YaYas.
She enjoyed spending time at the Gasconade River and appreciated the peaceful simplicity of watching the water go by. She was a lover of all things sweet; desserts were her favorite breakfast food. In recent years she had taken up both quilting and gardening. It's no surprise, however, that the thing she loved most aren’t things at all, but the people she loved. Spending time with her parents, Craig, her girls and her “Grands” was all she needed most days.
She is preceded in death by her dad. She is survived by her mom, a resident at Gasconade Manor Nursing Home. Those left to carry on her legacy include her husband, her two daughters: Amy Shafer (Jordan) and Ashley Harris (Jeremy) and five grandchildren: Joelie, Tucker, Raelie, Jensen, and Jaxton as well as many family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life for Cherri will be Friday, October 21st at the Belle-Bland Community Center in Belle from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.
The Memorial Service will be Saturday, October 22 at 11:00 a.m. at Pilot Knob Baptist Church in Belle with Russ Walje and Perry Wolfe officiating.
Lunch will be provided after the Memorial Service in the Fellowship Hall at Pilot Knob Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to the YaYas at Mid-America Bank.
