Delmar Blane Shanks

Delmar Blane Shanks, a life time resident of Belle, died Tuesday, October 11, 2011, in the St. John's Mercy hospital in Washington, MO. He was 87. Delmar was born in Maries County May 29, 1924. He is the son of the late Bob and Emma Hafner Shanks. On June 14, 1947, Delmar was married to Mamie Addeline Howard.
Surviving Delmar is his son Randy with his wife Patty of Belle and two grand children Ryan of Belle and Rachel of Bentonville, Arkansas. Also surviving Delmar is a brother Charles Shanks with his wife Gloria of Plainview, Illinois, and four sisters Edrie Jett of Creve Coeur, Ellen Richardson with her husband Jim of Rolla, Mildred Rogers with her husband Wayne of Hazelwood, and Norma Wehmeyer with her husband Frank of Owensville. There are many nieces and nephews.
Delmar is preceded in death by a brother in law Louie Jett and a sister in law Barbara Shanks.
Delmar was a home builder, carpenter, and craftsman. He was a member of the Church of Christ. During WWII Delmar served in the U.S. Army.
