Donald David Owens of Belle, died Friday, July 20, 2012 at St. Mary's hospital in Jefferson City. He was 75. Don was born December 30, 1936 to the late Samuel and Lillie (Redden) Owens. On November 16, 1974, Don married Carolyn Sisco in Belle.
Don was a truck driver for most of his life until he took a job as an engineer for JC River Terminal until retirement. Don loved to fish and spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Don is survived by his wife Carolyn of the home, a son, Donnie Owens and his companion Maria of Belle, daughters, Resa Branson of Belle, Lavonda Lawson and her husband Johnny of Rolla, Debbie Rocha and her husband Dan of Bolivar, grandchildren Breanna Owens, Haley Owens, Rebecca Tester, Jason Branson, Chris Duncan and wife Meghan, Madison Duncan, Jenifer Ingram, Dayna Mitchem, Aimee Mitchem, great grandchildren, Alex Branson, Chase Branson, Landon Branson, Skyler Branson, Amanda Holder, Hayden Sandifer, Henley Duncan, and a great granddaughter due in November, brothers Cleo Owens of Linn, Carl and Glenda Owens of Pekin IL, Roger and Lois Owens of Vichy, sisters, Wilma Smith and Joyce Mahaney of Belle.
Don is preceded in death by his parents, a son Arvil Owens,sister in law Geneva Owens, and a brother in law, Bob Smith.
Don was a deacon and member of the College Hill Baptist church.
Services for Don will be held on Monday July 23, 2012 at 10am at the College Hill Baptist church in Belle. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Sunday, July 22, 2012 from the Sassmann Chapel in Belle. Interment will be at College Hill Cemetery.
