Donald L. Perkins

Donald Leroy Perkins, age 80, of Bland, passed away on September 21, 2023 at his home.  

He was born on July 25, 1943, in Bland, a son to the late Virgil H. and Edna F. (Southard) Perkins.

On May 17, 1980 he was united in marriage to Audrey Reed in Belle. Audrey survives of the home.

Don worked at Invacare/Smith and Davis for twenty one years and at Walmart and Grimco for many years. He also worked construction earlier in his life.  

Don enjoyed working in his garden and his shed but most of all he loved the time spent with his family and especially his grandkids.  

In addition to his wife of 43 years, Audrey, Don is survived by: one son, Toby Gregory of Jefferson City; one daughter, Sherrie Cochran and her husband Donnie of Eldon; one brother, Bernard Perkins and his wife Gloria of Gerald; two sisters-in-law, Verna Butler of Owensville and Rena Perkins of Bowling Green; grandchildren, Mayson Gregory and his wife Abby, Tristina Holschuh, and Blake Gregory and many more; great-grandchildren, Mavrick, Ainzley, and many more as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

In addition to his parents was preceded in death by father and mother-in-law, Hershel and Zillah Reed; brothers Gary and Marvin Perkins; Shirley Rector a sister, brothers-in-law, Donnie and Kenny Reed, Arthur Cox, and Milfred Rector; sisters-in-law, Theresa Reed, Alice Cox, and Donna Perkins; children, Donnie and Arnold Perkins, Brenda Bethune, Debbie Carwile and Charles Ray Hall; daughter-in-law, Inez Gregory; two infant grandsons; two nephews Michael Reed and David Rector; great niece, Cherrish Reed; and a great-great nephew, Bentley Michael.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, September 25, 2023 at Skaggs Chapel Cemetery beginning at 11:00 a.m.
