Dr. John Perry Tellman of Belle, died Sunday morning, September 6, 2009, in the Frene Valley Nursing Home in Owensville. He was 88. John was born on June 9, 1921, in Belle. He is the son of the late Joseph and Minnie Dickneite Tellman. During World War II, John served as a Lieutenant JG in the United States Navy. He received an honorable discharge in 1947.
John enjoyed hunting turkey and deer. He was a licensed pilot and loved to fly airplanes. He found great pleasure in fixing anything but especially liked to fix Lawn Boy lawn mowers and vacuum cleaners. John liked to travel, go dining out, and shopping with Elinor. He enjoyed making and eating a good pot of chili and spending time visiting with his many friends and family members. John was known to those in the community as the "painless dentist" and helped numerous people with their dental needs at all hours of the day and night. John shared his love of hunting with his boys and shared his wisdom with his daughter Teddie.
Surviving John is his best friend Elinor Fleischmann, a son Gerry with his wife Stacy, and two sisters Della Faye Anderson of Seal Beach, California, and Wandella Brown of Marshall, MO. John's grand children and great grand children include Kimberly Ashworth with her husband Marc and their children Sierra and Adam, Jason Witte with his wife Julie and their children Charley and Aubrey, Stuart Witte, Tracey Witte, Grant Tellman
Bryce Tellman, and Travis Tellman.
Preceding John in death are his wife Beverly, sons Steven, Stuart, and Gregory, and daughter Teddie Witte. Also preceding John are three brothers Alex, Roman (Doe), and Charles Tellman, and two sisters Marilyn Stonebreaker and Virginia Pepper.
