Earl Edward Graham died Saturday morning, August 8, 2009, at his home in Belle. He was 84. Ed was born July 11, 1925, in Maries County. He is the son of the late Roscoe and Ethel Maples Graham.
At the age of 18 Ed was inducted into the U.S. Army where he earned commendations for service in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. After the service, Ed worked for many years as a printer for Tri-county Publications in Belle. He retired as a printer supervisor at the Moberly Correctional Facility. He returned to live in Belle after his retirement. Ed was a past commander of the Belle VFW Post 3410.
Surviving Ed is his long time companion Juanita "Nita" Griggs. Also surviving are four children Candy Jett and her friend Stephen Moore of Jefferson City, Kim Cagle and friend Curt Holzer, Edwina Murrell of Overland Park, Kansas, and Chris Graham. There are two sisters Wilma Bogler of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Doris Knott of Belle, and one brother Mike Graham also of Belle. Ed's grand children include Mike Jett and Shelly of Jefferson City, Shelly Scrivner and Brent of Jefferson City, Nikki Cagle and John of Kansas City, and Sundi Jo Graham of Hollister, great grand children Tucker and Mychael Jett, Zoe London Scrivner, and Kalel Spears. Ed's step children are Jean Gabbert with their family of Moberly, Marie and Ron Frank and their two children of Waterloo, Illinois, many great grand children, and two great great grand children.
Preceding Ed in death is a son Doug. Also preceding Ed are three brothers Mackie, Butch, and Dwayne and one sister Peggy Phillips.
Ed leaves many other family members and many many friends.
