Edward "Eddie" G. Enke, age 87, of Bland, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at Frene Valley Nursing Home in Owensville.
Eddie was born July 19, 1925, in the state of Nebraska, a son to the late George and Ida (Borlish) Enke.
Eddie attended school at Bem and worked for Brown Show Company until his retirement.
He was a member of Zion Evangelical Free Church in Bland where he had a perfect Sunday school attendance record for 25 years. He also enjoyed his birds and his flower gardens.
Survivors include: one brother, Ron and his wife Pauline Enke of Foley, AL; two sisters, Fern McKinney of Tuscumbia and Wilma Fay Thompson and her husband Sonny of Belle as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by: one sister, Doris Mae Enke, five brothers, his twin brother Edwin and Kenneth, Eugene, Carl and Neil Enke as well as one brother-in-law John McKinney.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2013, at Sassmann's Chapel in Bland.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Zion Evangelical Free Church in Bland with Rev. David Knudsen officiating. An additional visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until time of the service. Interment will follow in the Old Bland Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Zion Evangelical Free Church.
