Elizabeth Julia Shanks

Elizabeth Julia Shanks of Belle, died Saturday, October 15, 2011, in the St. Mary's hospital in Jefferson City. She was 94. Mrs. Shanks was born on January 27, 1917, in Summerfield. She is the daughter of the late John and Sophia Picker Baumgartner. On June 2, 1938, Elizabeth Baumgartner and Ray Shanks were joined in marriage.
Surviving Mrs. Shanks is a son Milford with his wife Joyce, a grandson Kevin, and a great granddaughter Heather. Also surviving are two sisters Eleanor Shanks and Mary Hafner all of Belle.
Preceding Mrs. Shanks in death is her husband, three infant children, and three brothers Lewis, Frank, and August Baumgartner.
Mrs. Shanks worked for 34 years for the International Shoe company. She was a faithful member of the St. Alexander's Catholic Church in Belle.
