Elva Maxine Owens

Elva Maxine Owens of Belle went to be with the Lord on Saturday morning, June 20, 2009, in the St. John's Mercy Hospital in Washington. Maxine had been a resident of the Frene Valley Nursing Home in Owensville for the last couple of years. Maxine was born on November 7, 1928, in Paragould, Arkansas. She is the daughter of the late David and Alpha Dean Brewer.
On October 9, 1948, Maxine was married to Sam Keith Owens and to this union three daughters were born. Maxine and Keith made their home and raised their family in St. Louis. In 1983 Keith retired from McDonnell Douglas and they moved to Belle. Maxine is preceded in death by Keith who passed away in 1993. Both were active in the Church of Christ.
Surviving Maxine are two daughters Rebecca Kinder with her husband Robert of Magnolia Springs, Alabama, and Phyllis James of St. Louis. Maxine is preceded in death by her daughter Glenda Howard.
There are three grand children Daniel Keith Wright with his wife Emily of Springfield, Illinois, Jeffery James with his wife Bethany of St. Louis, and Amy (Howard) Kimbrell with her husband Kory of St. Louis. She will be missed by her seven great grand children.
Services for Maxine were held on Sunday, June 21, 2009 from Sassmann's Chapel in Belle. Interment was in Liberty Cemetery.
