Emogene Ruth Carter

Emogene Ruth Carter, formerly of the Belle area, died February 1,2012. She was 94. Emogene was born on November 23, 1917, in Osage County. She is the daughter of the late John and Flora Francis Schultz. On March 9, 1943, Emogene was married to Ralph Carter in Red Bank, New Jersey. After Ralph's tour of duty in the service, the couple lived and worked in St. Louis. In 1948, they moved to a farm east of Belle where they lived until Ralph's death in 1983. Emogene soon moved to Arkansas to live with her son Ron and later to California to live with her daughter Linda. Surviving Emogene are four sons Mike with his wife Carla of Windsor, Ron with his wife Judy, Lynn with his wife Erin of Ft. Worth, TX, and Steve with his wife Debbie of Upland, CA, and one daughter Linda Woodruff with her husband David of Clayton, CA. There are fourteen grand children and many great grand children. Emogene is preceded in death by all of her sisters and brother Julia Dowler, Anna Kitchens, Lillie Ridenhour, and Leslie Schultz.
