Ethelyn Bray Ammerman

Ethelyn Bray Ammerman of Belle died Wednesday evening, August 24, 2011 in a Jefferson City hospital. She was 96. Ethelyn was born on October 15, 1914 in St. James. She is the daughter of the late Seth and Walsy Hutchison Bray. Ethelyn was married to Noel Ammerman and to this union two sons were born.
Ethelyn is preceded in death by her husband Noel, her sons Charles Ammerman and Donald Ray Ammerman. Also preceding Ethelyn are two brothers Thomas and Wilton Bray and one sister Gladys Copeland. Ethelyn is survived by five grand children Laura Mertens, Lesley Copeland, Greg Ammerman, Charla Rebbe and Eric Ammerman and eleven great grandchildren.
Ethelyn was a teacher, beginning her career in one room school houses in Vichy and Paydown. She taught for many years at Swiss. During her career, she continued her own education and earned a masters degree. After her retirement, Ethelyn continued to substitute in the Belle school. She attended church at the Union Hill and the Belle First Baptist Church.
