Fern Elaine McKinney

Fern McKinney, age 90, of Tuscumbia passed away Friday, February 24, 2017, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.

Fern was born August 10, 1926, in Lincoln, Nebraska, a daughter to the late George and Ida (Borlesch) Enke.

On May 15, 1948, Fern was united in marriage to John Leslie McKinney. John preceded her in death on April 16, 2012.

Fern was employed for 40 years at the Brown Shoe Company in Owensville before retiring and was a member of the Tuscumbia 1st Assembly of God Church.

Fern enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going to church services, playing bingo and doing crossword puzzles.

Fern is survived by: one daughter, Rena Albertson of Lohman; one son, Gregory McKinney of Philadelphia, PA; two grandchildren, Chera McCoy and her husband James of Russellville, Mo. and Lesley Lueckenotte and her husband Chris of Lohman, Mo; 7 great grandchildren, Haylee, Camryn, and Brayden Paull, Spencer Lampe, Blake and Collin Lueckenotte, and Gracie McCoy; 1 great great grandson Jayce Lampe and one great great grandson on the way; 1 brother Ronnie Enke and his wife Pauline of Boerne, Texas; Brother and sister in laws Jack and Audrey McKinney of Owensville, Mo and Floyd and Ruth McKinney of Belle, Mo; 1 sister in law Helen Shanks of Owensville, Mo; several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.

In addition to her parents and spouse of 64 years, Fern was preceded in death by: one son, Ray McKinney, three brothers Eugene, Carl, and Eddie Enke, 2 sisters Faye Thompson and Doris Enke.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 27, 2017, at Sassmann’s Chapel in Belle. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Fred Earp officiating. Interment will be in the Countryside Memorial Gardens.
