Frances I. Owens of Gerald passed away Monday, July 18, 2011, in the Frene Valley Nursing Home in Owensville. She was 84. Frances was born on September 9th, 1926, in Tullahoma, Tennessee. She is the daughter of the late Arthur Edward King and Martha "Bessie" Young King.
Surviving Frances are three daughters Linda Stroupe with her husband Dennis of Bland, Elizabeth Lampkin of Gerald, and Julie Barton also of Gerald, and one son Charles Owens with his wife Cindy of Union. There are 17 grand children, 24 great grand children, and 3 great great grand children.
Frances is preceded in death by her husband Robert W. Owens, a son Bob Owens, a grand daughter Anita Barton, and two grand sons William Boyton and infant John Barton. Also preceding Frances are two brothers Walter and Stanton King and a sister Louise Johnson.
Frances moved to Missouri in 1955. She worked at Merks Restaurant in Gerald and retired from the Langenberg Hat Factory in New Haven. Frances enjoyed country living. She was passionate about sharing her medical history for the benefit of science. She donated her body to the St. Louis University School of Medicine.
