Francis 'Bud' J. O'Brien

Francis J. "Bud" O'Brien, age 82, formally of Belle passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at his home in Owensville.

Bud was born January 15, 1931, in Delaware Ohio. A son to the late Joanne O'Brien and raised by his mother and father, Joseph and Mary (Ried) O'Brien.

On October 18, 1988, he was united in marriage to Cleo Bates in Rolla. She survives of the home.

Bud worked as a truck driver for 40 years before working at the Missouri State Penitentiary until his retirement in 1985.Bud was a member of the First Baptist Church of Belle. He loved playing bingo, yard sales, watching old John Wayne movies, and spending time with his grandson Colt.


In addition to his wife, Bud is survived by: three daughters, Mary Watkins and her husband Louie of Rolla, Candy Korn and her husband Jason of Desoto, and Linda O'Brien; Three sons, Mark, John, and Michael O' Brien; and one grandchild, Colt Watkins.

In addition to his parents, Francis was preceded in death by two sisters, Ann Armstrong and Joanne O'Brien; and one Brother, Bob O'Brien.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
