Howard J. Becklenberg, age 78, of Vichy passed away Sunday, May 10, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Howard was born April 19, 1937, in Chamois, a son to the late John W. and Beulah S. (Sieg) Becklenberg.
He was employed as an Assistant Plant Supervisor at Kingsford Charcoal for 43 years.
Howard was of the Catholic Faith and a member of St. Alexander's Catholic Church in Belle. He was also a member of the Belle Masonic Lodge #373.
Howard was an avid fisherman, often taking trips to Wyoming to fish and to hunt Elk. He also liked to hunt deer and turkey. Howard was into Team Penning at rodeos and did it well into his 50's. He enjoyed older country music and watching westerns on TV. His greatest joy was time spent with his family and especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by those that knew him.
Howard is survived by: one son, Rick J. Becklenberg and his wife Karlene of Belle along with their children and grandchildren. Grandson, Benjamin Becklenberg and his wife Meredith and their children, Dalton and Alice Becklenberg. And granddaughter Jessica Frencken and her husband Gregory and their child, Emerson Frencken; one daughter, Pamela S. Rutledge and her husband Eddie of Charleston, S.C. along with their children and grandchildren. Granddaughter, Tracy Williams and her husband Jay and their children, Chloe Hutton, Kayla Williams, Nathan Williams, Nicholas Williams, and Kara Williams. And grandson, Dustin Henley and his wife Joy and their child, Caitlyn Henley; one brother, Calvin Becklenberg; an aunt and uncle, Louis and Joyce Sieg as well as many extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial Visitation for Howard will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Sassmann's Chapel in Belle.
