James William Woemmel

James William Woemmel, a lifetime resident of Bland, died Friday morning, December 21, 2012, in his home of an apparent heart attack. He was 73. Jim was born in Red Bird on February 15, 1939. He is the son of the late Roscoe and Lucy Tipton Woemmel. On December 7, 1968, Jim was joined in marriage to Loraine Hadley.
Surviving Jim is his daughter Lori Woemmel and her daughter Kayla of Owensville and a son Danny and his family of five children. Also surviving Jim is his brother Jerry Woemmel of Cape Girardeau and two sisters Janet Spicer and JoAnn Marcus both of Jefferson City.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Loraine, and a brother John.
Jim graduated from the Bland High School and served in the U.S. Army. Jim had worked for 35 years for Powell Industries in Washington. He retired in 2005.
Services for Jim were held Sunday afternoon, December 23, 2012 from the Sassmann Chapel in Bland with interment in the Bland Union Cemetery.
