Jane Elizabeth Nielsen

Jane E. Nielsen, age 53, of Bland, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.

Jane was born on September 6, 1962, in Washington, a daughter to Don and Sandy (Hicks) Holzschuh. Her father preceded her in death and her mother survives of her home.

She was a 1980 graduate of Bland High School and Jane stayed in close contact with her classmates and was active in the class reunions.

On June 20, 1981, she was united in marriage to Leland Nielsen. From this union, two children were born.

Jane was employed for over 14 years with the Division of Employment Security in Jefferson City. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bland and had been attending the First Christian Church in Belle.

She was a lifelong member of the Bland community. Jane loved to visit with people and was quite the Social Butterfly. She loved being outdoors, whether it was walking around town or taking country road trips in her golf cart. She also liked to read, fish, and camp but her greatest joy was being "Nana" to her grandbabies.

In addition to her husband of 31 years and her mother, Jane is survived by: one son, Robbie Nielsen and his girlfriend Leslie Cronin of Bland; one daughter, Allie Nielson and her boyfriend, Shaun Christopher of Bland; three grandchildren, Chase Nielsen, Colton Nielsen, and Sawyer Christopher; one brother, Jamie Holzschuh of Bland; two sisters, Debbie Lake of Bland and Connie Rasmussen of Bland, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at Sassmann's Chapel in Bland.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the First Christian Church in Belle with Pastor Mitchell Seaton officiating. Interment will follow in the Bland Union Cemetery.
