Jenny Kaye Carpenter, age 75, of Bland, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Stonebridge of Owensville.
Jenny was born April 4, 1948, in Belle, a daughter to the late Glen and Camelia (Butler) Thompson.
Jenny was a longtime area resident and earned her high school degree in 1967. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Belle.
On January 12, 1985 she was united in marriage to James Carpenter in Belle. Jim survives of their home in Bland.
Jenny was employed at the Belle State Bank for a number of years as well as COPIC in Rolla for many years.
Jenny enjoyed camping and fishing with Jim along the Mari-Osa Delta on the Osage river. She liked to shop and passed that trait onto some of her granddaughters. Jenny had a great sense of humor and kept a positive attitude through several health problems through the years. She enjoyed time with friends but above all, Jenny greatest love was time with her family. She was very close to her brothers and sisters, and especially loved time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed greatly by those that knew and loved her.
In addition to her husband of 38 years, Jenny is survived by: two daughters, Kelly Horstman and her husband Jeff of Bland and Leann Kottwitz and her husband Tony of Bland; three sons, Douglas Carpenter and his wife Johna of St. James, Jim Carpenter and his wife Kate of St. James, and John Carpenter of Springfield; grandchildren, Shanna, Abbi and her husband Travis, Tyler and his wife Hannah, Denni and her husband Mason; great-grandchildren, Jamee, Jaxton, Lukas, Braxton, MaKenna, Aubrey, Millie, Jacob, Josh, and Kaylin; a sister, Toni Buechter of Belle; three sisters-in-law, Betty Thompson, Linda Thompson, and Brenda Klingensmith; three brothers-in-law, Lyn Weller, Luke Buechter, and Gary Carpenter; and her dog, Ozzie as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Camelia Thompson, two brothers, Roger and Wayne Thompson and a sister, Glenda Weller.
Visitation for Jenny will be on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at Sassmann’s Chapel in Belle from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at Sassmann’s Chapel in Belle beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Francis Cemetery.
Expression of sympathy may be made to the Francis Cemetery fund.
