Joan M. (Wright) Damm, of Cuba/Bland MO passed away peacefully at her daughter’s residence on May 9, 2021 at the age of 76.
She was Born October 10, 1944 in Rushville IN, a daughter to James M Wright and Virginia H. (Baumgartner) Wright of Fort Wayne, IN.
She was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Damm on March 17, 1976 in Miami, Ok. They were married for 37 years. The couple moved to Cuba, Mo in 1980 where they owned and operated a furniture refinishing store. She later worked for Wallis Oil at their bakery in Cuba at the 4 way stop. Joan volunteered for over 16 years at the Cuba food pantry. She enjoyed going to church and helping others in need.
She is preceded in death by her husband “Bob”, both parents, James and Virginia Wright, two brothers Harry Wright and Roy R. Wright, step-daughter Dorian “Damm” Edmisson, and her grandmother Susie Gebhart Nee Baumgartner.
She is survived by: three children, Angie (Evan) Vaughan of Bland, Michael (Cheryl Harris) McQueen of Cuba, and Angela “Wells” Vick of Mounds, OK; 2 stepchildren William “Bill” Damm, and Christopher Damm. both of Buffalo Mo; grandchildren, Susan “Downing” Lewis of Rich Fountain, Rachel Casey of Salem, Jennifer Rubey and Justin Paul Vick. Both of Mounds Ok; great grandchildren, Makenize Hankins of Bland, Benjamin Powers of Pacific, and Natalie Hanson of Mounds OK; two brothers James M Wright II and his wife Linda of Fort Wayne, IN and Alan Wright and wife Linda of Mooresville, IN as well as numerous nieces and nephews, friends, and friends.
Expression of sympathy may be made to the College Hill Cemetery.
