John David Duffin

John David Duffin, age 53, of Bland route, died early Monday morning in a one car automobile accident on hwy 28 East of Bland. A deer in the roadway was the cause of the accident. John was born on December 9, 1958, in St. Louis. He is the son of Ernie and Ernestine slate Duffin. On August 20, 1988, John was married to Charlotte Swafford.
Surviving John is his wife Charlotte, his mother Ernestine Duffin of Dover, Tennesse, and two step children, David Chapman and Jennifer Padgett with her husband Kevin of Belle. Also surviving are two brothers Gary Duffin with his wife Jeri of St.Louis and Tim Duffin of Belle, and two sisters Patti Hawkins with her husband John of Dittmer and Carrie Swayne of Desoto. There are seven grandchildren Kourtney, Tiffany, Hayleigh, Kenzie, Tommy, Ethan, and Jordan.
John is preceded in death by his father Ernest and a brother Joseph Duffin. In 2004, John was seriously injured when he was hit by a motorist while cutting concrete on a highway construction job. His injuries forced him to retire on disability. After recovering from the accident, John moved to a small farm between Bland and Belle. John and Charlotte were members of the Belle United Methodist Church.
Services were held on Wednesday at the Belle Methodist Church with interment in the Countryside Memorial Gardens.
