John Leslie McKinney

John Leslie McKinney of Tuscumbia passed away on Monday evening, April 16, 2012, at the age of 88. He was the son of the late Everett and Susie (Cox) McKinney. On May 15, 1948 he married Fern Enke who survives in Tuscumbia.
John was employed with Brown Shoe Company in Owensville and Kellwood Company in New Haven where he retired. After retirement he worked at the Capital Mall in Jefferson City and as a dietary aid at the Miller County Care Nursing Home in Tuscumbia. He was a member of the Tuscumbia First Assembly of God church.
John has 3 children, Ray McKinney, who preceded him in death, Rena Albertson, husband Lonnie, of Tuscumbia and Gregory McKinney of Philadelphia, PA. He is survived by two sisters, Helen Shanks and Viola Fredendall both of Owensville, two brothers, Floyd McKinney, wife Ruth, from Belle and Jack McKinney, wife Audrey, of Owensville along with many nieces and nephews. John is preceded in death by brothers Paul, Carl, Bernie and Eugene McKinney and by one sister, Thelma McKinney.
John has 2 grandchildren, Chera Lampe, fiancAC. James McCoy, of Russellville and Lesley Lueckenotte, husband Chris, of Jefferson City; Six great grandchildren Haylee, Camryn and Brayden Paull, Spencer Lampe, Blake and Collin Lueckenotte.
John enjoyed being with his family, watching his great grandchildren play sports, and family vacations.
Visitation and funeral services were held on Friday, April 20, 2012 at the Sassmann's Funeral Home in Bland, MO with Brother Brian Jarrett officiating. Interment was in the Countryside Memorial Gardens in Owensville.
