Junior "Sonny" Lemons

Junior "Sonny" Lemons of Belle, died Sunday, June 24, 2012 at Autumn Meadows nursing facility in Linn. Sonny was born on June 10, 1930 to the late Asa Benjamin and Mildred (Jackson) Lemons in Gypsy, MO. On April 8, 1977 Sonny was married to Charlotte Paul in Marble Hill, MO.
Surviving Sonny is his wife, Charlotte of the home, sons, Gary Lemons with friend Becky Ganz, Dwaine Lemons and his wife Jamie, Michael Lemons and his wife Denise all of Granite City, Richard Tarvin and his wife Gayle from Australia, daughters, Joyce Johnson and husband Leonard, Rena Niehaus and her husband Rich all of Granite City, Elaine Reed with her fiancAC. Jason White of Belle, 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, and a brother Don Lemons and wife Wilma of Imperial. Sonny is preceded in death by a brother Billy Lemons.
Sonny proudly served in the United States Marine Corp. and worked as a diesel mechanic until retirement.
Services for Sonny will be held on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at 10am from the Sassmann Chapel in Belle. Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 26 from 5-8pm from Sassmann Chapel in Belle. Interment will be at Skaggs Chapel Cemetery.
