Karen Rose (Dye) Roberts passed away at her home in Rocheport, MO on February 3rd, 2025 at the age of 60.
Karen was born February 28th, 1964 in Kilmarnock, Scotland to Kenneth W. Dye and Rose Mary (Lowery) Dye. Being the last of three children, young Karen (lovingly referred to as Peewee) always found a way to keep things interesting. From starting feuds with neighborhood store clerks to setting her red, curly hair on fire, there was never an uninteresting moment when Karen was around. Being an Air Force family, the Dyes spent time in England and California before settling back near their roots in Vichy, MO.
Karen attended and graduated from Belle High School in 1982 and later UMKC School of Pharmacy, while always remaining the life of the party. In 1988, Karen married Jeff Roberts and together they had two children: Benjamin and Hannah. Karen and Jeff made their home in Mary’s Home, MO, raising their children as well as chickens and a garden. They owned a cabin on the Gasconade River, where boating and fishing stood as a staple to summer weekends. In 2007, Karen began seeing her partner Phill Goodman. Music was one of Karen’s greatest loves, and she lived for summertime bonfires where she could listen to Phill, Ben, and Hannah play and sing her favorite songs. In 2011, Karen and Phill moved to Pahoa and later Kailua, HI making countless friends along the way. They returned home to Missouri in October of 2023.
Karen was preceded in death by parents Ken and Rose Mary Dye, sister Karla Joy O’Malley, infant sister Tamra Lyn Dye, and nephew Scott Dye.
She is survived by her partner Phill Goodman of the home, son Ben Roberts of Columbia, MO and daughter Hannah Roberts of Wright City, MO, along with their father Jeff Roberts of Mary’s Home, MO; Phill’s sons Caleb Goodman and Luke Goodman and granddaughter Desyn of Belle, MO, brother Kevin Dye and wife Nancy of Roanoke, VA, nieces, nephews, and many other family members and countless friends. She will also be leaving behind grand-dogs Daisy and Frankie, whom she adored greatly.
A visitation will be held at Broadway Baptist Church in St. James, MO from 9-11 am Saturday February 8th, 2025 with services to follow.
