Karlee Jo Hallahan, age 21, of Vienna passed gently at home on Friday January 24, 2020.
Karlee was born June 26, 1998, in Jefferson City, a daughter to Jacob “Jake” and Camelia Dawn (Vinson) Hallahan. Diagnosed at birth with Epidermolysis Bullosa, a rare genetic skin disease, she faced a lifetime of physical pain. Despite the many obstacles Karlee maintained an infectious positive attitude inspiring perseverance in everyone she met.
Karlee was a 2016 graduate of Vienna High School. She enjoyed many hobbies including baking with her Nana, traveling and collecting shot glasses. She loved spending time with her cousins, close friends and her beloved dog, Jack.
Karlee served as a part time volunteer secretary at the Visitation Inter-parish School in Vienna where she was adored by the staff and students alike. She was most recently honored by the Meramec Regional Planning Commission for her volunteer work.
When complications from Karlee’s skin disease reached a level of irreversible progression, she worked with her parents to create a bucket list of adventures. With generous support from the local and surrounding communities, Karlee was able to fulfill her dreams of taking a hot air balloon ride, visiting the Missouri wine country and traveling to Paris, France.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by: her brothers, Tyler and Tanner Hallahan; grandparents, Luke and Toni ‘Nana’ Buechter of Belle, George and Mary Sue Vinson of Rolla, and Shawn and Missy Hallahan of Troy; other relatives, Andy, Julie, Byran and Clare Littrell of Belle, Christina and Natalie Byrd, Pete Herring, Ignacia, Maryanne and Kimberly Francis all of Belle; Dwight, Austin and Brantley Francis, Erin and Kaden North all of Belle; Rich, Charla, Troy and Leah Grimes of Greenville, SC; Matthew, Kaden, Liam and Madeline Hallahan of Troy; Jeremy, Stacia, Luca and Aria Hallahan of Jonesburg; Blake, Cassandra and Arthur Johnson of Warrenton; and Ryan and Ashten Hallahan of El Cajon, CA.
Karlee was preceded in death by her great grandparents, Glen and Camelia Thompson, Robert Hallahan, and Roger Bloomfield.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the United Methodist Church of Vienna (104 Hwy 63) on Saturday February 1, 2020, from 2 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
Charitable donations may be made to the Karlee Jo Hallahan Memorial Scholarship Fund, preserving her passion to live life to the fullest.
