Kathy Jean Basham

Kathy Jean Basham, 72, of Belle, passed away at her home surrounded by her loved ones on April 22, 2023.

Kathy was born on October 14, 1950 in Keokuk, Iowa, to Frances Sanders and the late Pete Mitchell.

Kathy married Bill Basham on August 9, 1986.

Kathy was an outstanding woman that made an impact on everyone that knew her. She loved seeing the ocean, gardening, planting flowers, and driving fast in fast cars. Kathy enjoyed spending time with her children, her family, and many children that she babysat over the years.

Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Pete Mitchell, and a sister, Becky Hart.

She is survived by: her mother, Frances Sanders; her husband, Bill Basham; six sons, Anthony Wolf and his wife Julie of Lansing, KS, Matt Wolf of Piedmont, Nathan Hale and Jeremy Basham of Belle, Jimmy Scheel of Kearney, MO, and Billy Basham, Jr. of Marion, IL; two daughters, Holly White and her husband Brandon of Richmond, Mo, and Amie Franklin and her husband Chris of Marion, IL; 18 grandkids; 5 great-grandkids; and 5 sisters as well as many extended family members and friends.  

Visitation for Kathy will be on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at Sassmann’s Chapel in Belle from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be on Friday, April 28, 2023 at the Church of Jesus Christ Belle Restoration Branch with services beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Skaggs Chapel Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital or the Shriners Hospital in memory of Kathy Jean Basham.
