Kenneth Odell "Spike" Scarlett of Belle died Friday morning, July 30th, 2010, at his home. He was 73. Spike was born on March 12, 1937, in Maries County. He is the son of the late William and Iva Crider Scarlett. Roger and Terrllyne Stockton purchased the Sunrise Farm south of Belle in the mid 70's and with the farm they accepted the responsibility of Spike. They provided Spike food, clothing, shelter, and healthcare. And, for the last 35 years Spike was a member of the Stockton family. Spike once reported to the newspaper that he was Roger's farm manager.
Spike began his education in the Dixie School and graduated from the 8th grade from the Belle High School. Spike loved to sing and play his guitar. He was a member of the Liberty Church of Christ.
Preceding Spike in death are his parents and a brother Mardell.
