Laura Frances Jarvis

Laura Francis Jarvis formerly of Belle died Wednesday evening, September 22, 2010, at the age of 96. Laura had been a resident of the Maries Manor nursing home for the last five years. Laura was born on September 5, 1914, in Hope, Arkansas. She is the daughter of the late John Albert and Maudie Baughman Wolfe. On December 26, 1933, Laura was married to Floyd Augustus "Gus" Jarvis.
Surviving Laura are her sons Fred Jarvis with his wife Barbara of Dixon and Floyd Jarvis with his wife Ann of Belle. Also surviving are two sisters Melinda Thuli of Chamois and Julia Callias of Centertown and one brother Charlie Wolfe of Jefferson City. There are nine grandchildren and many great and great great grandchildren.
Laura is preceded in death by her husband Gus who passed away in 1978. Also preceding Laura are two sisters Dora Walling and Josie Groom and two brothers Thomas and George "Bill" Wolfe.
Laura had worked for the Oberman manufacturing company in Chamois, the garment factory in Linn, and the shoe factory in Belle. Laura has lived in Aud, Iberia, St. Clair, Belle, and Vienna. She enjoyed attending the Church of God at the Vichy Campground
