Lee Edward McKenzie of Bland died Wednesday afternoon, August 17, 2011, in the Phelps County Regional Medical Center. He was 86. Lee was born on November 11, 1924, in Rosebud. He is the son of the late Herman McKenzie and Bessie Irene Morgan McKenzie Thomas. Lee was joined in marriage to Ramona Jane Davis on October 5, 1946, and together they had two sons and two daughters.
Surviving Lee is his wife Ramona of the home, sons Edward with his wife Marla of Maryland Heights and Steven with his wife Carol of Kingwood, Texas, and daughters Janey Davidson of Moberly and Betty O'Brian with her husband David of Bartlett, Illinois. There are fourteen grand children and twenty great grand children. Also surviving Lee are two brothers Prentice McKenzie and John Thomas, and four sisters Georgia Stam,Viola Stam, Katherine Cracauer, and Gloria Nilges.
Preceding Lee are three brothers John McKenzie, Gus Thomas, and Tommy Thomas, and two sisters Alleen Lee and Alice Levine. Also preceding Lee are two grand children Sheri Hardwick and Matthew McKenzie and his step father George Thomas.
Lee and Ramona both retired from Western Electric in Cicero, Illinois. After their retirement in 1980, Lee and Ramona moved to their country home south of Bland. They were members of the Crossroads Baptist Church.
Lee was a veteran serving in the Army during WWII and a member of the VFW post in Owensville.
