Linda Jean Goforth

Linda Jean Goforth, age 75, passed away Monday, February 24, 2025, at the Leo H. Fieser Nursing Center in Fenton. 

Linda was born July 7, 1949, in Otto, MO, a daughter to the late Clarence Eugene and Jenny (Abrams) Wright.

Linda was a graduate of the Hillsboro school district. She was a hairdresser before graduating from the Jefferson College Nursing program in 1980. Linda pursued her career in nursing for 20 years working at St. Anthonys Hospital as well as in home health care. 

On January 29, 1972 she was united in marriage to Houston “Richard” Goforth. He preceded her in death on February 21, 2016. 

Lindas love for nature, gardening, and animals took her and Richard to Belle. She enjoyed raising dogs, rabbits, chickens, a goose, and ducks. Her pride and joy were her peacocks she raised. Linda had a love for gardening, plants and animals. 

Linda is survived by: cousins, Neil Eder and his wife Rene’ of High Ridge, Denny Eder of Dittmer, and Peggie Otto and her husband Earl of St. Louis County; her dear friend, Mary Boyer of Florida; and her puppy, Miss Gigett as well as several extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 44 years, Houston “Richard” Goforth. 

Visitation for Linda will be on Friday, February 28, 2025 at Sassmann’s Chapel in Belle from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow and interment will be in Countryside Memorial Gardens.
