Margie M. Schneider

Margie M. Schneider, age 91, of Belle passed away Sunday, September 4, 2016 at her home surrounded by family.

She was born May 9, 1925, in rural Osage County, a daughter to the late Louis "Scat" and Lola May (Prater) Owens.

Margie was a lifelong resident of the area and attended a rural schoolhouse through the 8th grade. She was married twice and both husbands preceded her in death. Orville Henry Steinkamp passed away on July 19, 1969 and Carl Schneider on November 14, 1977.

She was a homemaker and was employed at Linn Manor as a Nurses Aid for over 8 years. Margie was a member of the United Church of Christ in Cooper Hill and enjoyed embroidering, quilting, and cooking homemade cookies and soups as well as other items for her family. Her favorite times were spent with her family and friends. She will be missed greatly by those that knew her.

Margie is survived by: her son, Lanny Ross Steinkamp and his wife Marie of Belle; one grandson, Shawn Steinkamp of Kearney, NE; one great-grandson, Noah Steinkamp-Carlson of Clarinda, IA; a brother-in-law, Richard Berhorst of Bland; and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Owens of Linn as well as many extended family members and friends.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Margie was preceded in death by: brothers, Jimmy, Howard, Richard, Gilbert, and Maynard Owens and sisters, Julie Berhorst and Hazel McCully.

Visitation for Margie will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Sassmann's Chapel in Belle. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Van Lahmeyer officiating. Interment will be in Useful Cemetery near Linn.
