Matthew “Matt” C. Nilges, age 27, of Bland passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017.
Matt was born October 1, 1990, in Jefferson City, a son to Ralph Hoff and Cheryl Nilges.
He was a 2009 graduate of Belle High School and attended Linn State Technical School where he studied auto mechanics.
Matt was a member of St. Alexander’s Catholic Church in Belle and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Matt had been employed at Padgetts Bar and Grill as a cook which is something he loved to do and was very talented at. Along with his love of cooking, Matt enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time with friends, shooting pool, and playing poker as well as other card games. Matt loved spending time with his family and will be missed by those that knew and loved him.
Matt is survived by: his mother, Cheryl Nilges; his father, Ralph Hoff; maternal grandmother, Rosalind Nilges; paternal grandfather, Ralph Hoff, Sr.; aunts and uncles, Orel and Pam Baker, Mark and Chris Nilges, Don and Stacey Kelly; cousins, Nathan Baker, Rachel Anderson, Ashley Capps, Maura Nilges, Jesse Kelly, and Jamey Kelly as well as many extended family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Norbert Nilges and his paternal grandmother, Kathy Hoff.
Visitation for Matt will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 11, 2017 at St. Alexanders Catholic Church in Belle. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am. with Fr. Wayne Boyer officiating.
Interment will be in the Countryside Memorial Gardens near Bland.
