Michael “Mike” James Rohrer, age 61, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at his residence in Sedalia.
Mike was born October 2, 1963, in Rolla, a son to the late Donald “Butch” Roher and Linda (Shirley) Rohrer. Linda survives of her home near Belle.
He was a 1981 graduate of Belle High School and attended SMSU in Springfield until 1985. Mike was a member of the Rock Baptist Church in North Richland Hill, TX.
On August 26, 1989, He was united in marriage to Dana Convery at the First Baptist Church in Jefferson City. Dana survives of their home.
Mike had been employed as an Estimator at MICA in FT Worth, TX for 10 years. After moving to Sedalia, he worked at James H. Drew for 18 years as a General Manager.
Mike enjoyed playing golf, BBQing, traveling with Dana, and baking. He was famous for his carrot cake and French toast. He loved cooking Thanksgiving dinner every year for his family. Mike was a huge Mizzou Basketball and K.C. Chiefs fan attending many games for them as well as the Dallas Mavericks when he lived in Texas. Mike was a talented artist who drew, painted and even designed swimming pools for people. He loved Jesus, read his bible daily, and his faith in God was strong. He had just published his own book, “the absence of God”. Above all, Mike loved the times he spent with his family and especially his grandchildren. He will be missed tremendously by his family, friends, and anyone who knew and loved him.
In addition to his wife and mother, Mike is survived by: three children, Janlyn Rohrer of Smithton, Bryce Rohrer of Sedalia, and Kelsey Brandkamp and her husband Justin of Sedalia; one sister, Jeannie Wilson and her husband Kent of Belle; one brother, Bobby Rohrer of Belle; and his father-in-law, James Convery as well as many extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Donald “Butch” Rohrer and his mother-in-law Janis Convery.
Visitation for Mike will be on Monday, March 3, 2025 at Sassmann’s Chapel in Belle from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with interment in the Liberty Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
