Nancy Lauretta Buehrlen

Our dearly beloved, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and Great-Great-Grandmother, Nancy Lauretta Backues Buehrlen, of Summerfield, Mo. near Belle, departed this life on February 25, 2012.
Nancy, daughter of John Henry and Nora Ellen Krewson Backues, was born on June 2, 1919 at Paydown, Mo. near Vienna. She was united in marriage on December 17, 1938, in Vienna at the residence of Judge Burns to Earl Woodrow Buehrlen of Summerfield, where they lived the remainder of their lives.
To this union were born six sons, Johnie Eugene, Durrell Delano, Delford Dean, Earl Woodrow Junior, Royace Arlen, Verner Lyn, and one daughter, Eliva Norene.
Nancy's husband and children always came first. Her favorite things were singing as she did her daily chores, working in her gardens, picking berries (especially gooseberries), sewing, embroidering, canning and freezing foods, and making jelly. Also she loved watching reruns of the Lawrence Welk Show. Nancy worked at the International Shoe Factory for 19 and one half years at Bland and Belle.
Nancy was preceded in death by parents, John and Nora Backues, Earl, her loving husband of 56 years and 16 days, infant son, Durrell Delano, infant twin grandsons, David Lee and Dwayne Keith Gresham, Great-Granddaughter, Samantha Buehrlen, son-in-law Buddy Gresham, Daughter-in-law Bobbie Jo Buehrlen, four brothers, Elmer, Jake, Thomas, and Alva Backues, and four sisters Bertha Lange, Ellen Baumgartner, Hilda Baumgartner, and Matilda Fragole.
Surviving Nancy are sons, Johnie and wife Mildred, Delford, Earl Jr. and wife Linda, Royace, Verner and Karen and daughter Eliva. Also thirteen (13) grandsons, Terry Helmig, Benie Gresham and wife Crystal, Donie and wife Shari, Mike, Randy and Patricia Lewis, Durrell, Von and wife Toni, Earl Alan, Marty, Lawrence, Paul, Jacob, and Verner Jr. and six granddaughters, Brenella Merhoff and husband Kenny, Sheila Buehrlen, Teresa Hicks, Pamela Gaedke and husband Stacey, Sally Schroeder and husband Dan, and Mandy Kocevar and husband Joel. Also thirty-two (32) great grandchildren and ten (10) great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
