Nora Hale Gibbons, a lifelong resident of Belle, died Monday morning, October 19, 2009, in the Oak Tree Villas in Jefferson City. She was 81. Nora was born on November 14, 1927, in Eagar Springs. She is the daughter of the late Clyde and Anna Bell Bockover Belles.
Surviving Nora is her husband Jim of Belle, three sons Dewey Price with his wife Ann of Russellville, Ernest Hale, Jr. with wife Mariel of Belle, and Darrell Hale with his wife Desiree of Jefferson City, and two daughters Dianna Fowler with her husband Don of Jefferson City and Tena Hale-Rush with fiance Ken Thoenen of Jefferson City. Also surviving are three step sons Charles Hale with his wife Luella of St. Louis, Harley Hale with his wife Margaret of St. Louis, and Harry Hale of Laguna Beach, CA. There are 14 grandchildren and 10 step grandchildren, and many, many great grandchildren.
Nora is preceded in death by a husband Clint and a sister Dorothy Seymore Goggin. Also preceding Nora are a grandson Kemp Walters, a granddaughter Ashley Branson, and a son in law Douglas Rush.
The centerpiece of Nora's life was her dedication to family and God. Nora entered the ministry at the age of 18 and followed her passion for 64 years. She pastored numerous churches and held revivals all across Missouri and neighboring states. Nora was a talented musician and vocalist. She was also an aspiring artist.
Nora and Jim were faithful members of the Belle Assembly of God Church. She was loved and admired by all that knew her.
