Peggy Sue Crowder, age 81, of Gerald and formerly of Belle, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Washington.
Peggy was born May 13, 1943, in Jefferson City, a daughter to the late Jesse Berton and Della Louise (Carwile) Lange.
She was a 1961 graduate of Belle High School and attended the Belle Methodist Church as a child.
On October 27, 1975, she was united in marriage to James Edward Crowder at the St. Peters UCC in Owensville. James preceded her in death.
Although a housewife most of her life, Peggy had worked as a waitress in Gerald for many years as well as at Warden Publishing in Owensville as a proofreader and at Brown Shoe Company in Owensville.
Peggy was an avid St, Louis Cardinal fan and enjoyed going dancing with her husband and friends when she was younger. She loved music and Elvis as well as Conway Twitty were her favorite artists. Peggy liked doing crosswords, reading books daily and playing pinocle and rummy. She had a great sense of humor, was very social and loved visiting with her friends. Most of all, Peggy loved the times spent with her family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Peggy is survived by: two sons, Brian Rehmert of Gerald and Mitchell Todd Rehmert and his wife Alicia of Steelville; four grandchildren, Fallon Page of Savannah, GA, Rane Rehmert of Steelville, Reese Rehmert of Steelville, and Brittany Rehmert of Lebanon; three great-grandchildren, Landon Page, Palmer Page, and Avery Page; and one sister, Bertie Westerman as well as many extended family members and friends.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents Jesse and Della Lange and her husband, James Crowder.
Graveside services for Peggy will be held at a later date.
