Peter Leo Colmo

Peter Leo Colmo of Bland, died early Friday, December 9th, 2011. He was 79. Pete was born on September 18, 1932, in St. Louis. He is the youngest and the last survivor of eight children born to the late Peter and Mary Chiarelli Colmo. On June 14th, 1954, Pete was married to Geraldine "Gerry" Abbetmeier. They were blessed with two sons.
During his working life Pete worked 30 years in the maintenance department of the St. Louis City Public Schools. When Pete and Gerry retired from the city, they settled on a little piece of paradise on the dusty side of a gravel road north of Bland. Pete loved the trees, the woods, and the outdoors. Gerry was involved in the Church and community activities. Together Pete was happy. When Gerry passed away in 2008, Pete mourned.
Surviving Pete are his sons, Andy of St. Louis and Lou with his wife Debbie of Imperial. There is one grand daughter Shannon.
