Ray (Butch) Keith Barbarick

Ray Keith "Butch" Barbarick of Bland died Monday, December 17th, 2012, in the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia. He was 70. Butch was born on Oct. 11, 1942, in the DePaul Hospital in St. Louis. He is the son of the late Melvin and Esther Glieze Barbarick. On June 5th, 1965, Butch was joined in marriage to Mary Ann Kormeier of Owensville. They were blessed with two children.
Surviving Butch is his wife Mary Ann, a son Steve with his wife Becky and their daughter Peyton of Nashville, Tennessee, and a daughter Tammy Wojtasiak with her husband Mike and sons Ryan and Kevin of Maple Grove, Minnesota.
Butch served in the Naval Reserve and served two years active duty in the U.S. Navy. He was trained as a corpsman. After his military service Butch began his career at the Brown Shoe Company in St. Louis cutting patterns. He worked his way into an executive position and traveled worldwide, attending trade shows and visiting factories. He retired after 27 years. During his retirement, Butch lived, worked, and played as a farmer on the 3rd generation family farm. He enjoyed the past 14 years living in the shadow of his boyhood home town.
Visitation for Butch will be on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Sassmann Funeral Home in Bland, MO.at 4 p.m. Services for Butch will be Thursday, December 20, 2012 from Sassmann Funeral Chapel in Bland at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Bland Union Cemetery in Bland.
