Rodney J. Hilton, age 60, of Jefferson City, passed away Monday, September 23, 2024, at his residence surrounded by family.
Rodney was born August 24, 1964, in Jefferson City, a son to the late John Robert Hilton and Sheila (Hassler) Hilton. His mother survives of her home in Jefferson City.
He was baptized and was a member of the College Hill Baptist Church and a 1983 graduate of Belle High School.
Rodney had been employed at ALPLA in Jefferson City for 17 years as a lead forklift operator.
As a teen, Rodney loved spending time on his grandparents farm and enjoyed deer hunting. He was a avid KC Chiefs, St. Louis Cardinals, University of Missouri, and a LA Lakers fan and had all the apparel that went along with it. His hobbies included listening to anything Elvis or 80’s rock, watching John Wayne movies or other westerns, and driving his Corvette. Rodney was a hard worker and loved spending time with his family. He tried to make all the family gatherings when his work allowed and just adored all of his nieces and nephews. Rodney was a caring and fun-loving man who will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
In addition to his mother, Shelia, Rodney is survived by: two sisters, Monica Magers and her husband Doug of the Lake of the Ozarks, and Missy Stevens and her husband Chris of Jefferson City; one nephew, Jonathan Magers and his wife Chelsea of Marys Home; two nieces, Sydney Stevens and her fiancé Brett of Holts Summit, and Megan Magers of Eugene; six great-nieces and nephews, Ellie, Camden, Kyler, Carson, Ainsley, and Stetson as well as many extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Robert Hilton.
A celebration of life service will be on Sunday, September 29, 2024 at the Belle Community Church from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. with a short service at 1:00 p.m. Anyone attending is asked to wear a Missouri sports jersey or something casual.
