Ruth "Ruthie" I. Fisher, age 79, of Owensville passed away Saturday, August 22, 2015 at the Mercy Hospital in Ladue.
Ruthie was born June 9, 1936, a daughter to the late Benjamin and Clara (Sorrell) Brandhorst.
She was a 1954 graduate of Owensville High School and attended the Tulley Beauty School in Illinois.
She was united in marriage to Donald R. Fisher in 1956. From this union two sons were born. Donald was a military man and together with Ruthie they lived in many different places before coming home to Owensville. Donlad preceded her in death in January of 1979.
Ruthie was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Owensville and a member of Moose Lodge #2176 in Owensville. She was one of the first women accepted into that lodge.
She had been employed at Judy's Beauty Shop in Owensville and worked for a time at Gasconade Manor.
Ruthie was a spirited women who everyone loved. She liked to sing Patsy Cline and old gospel songs and especially liked singing with her granddaughter, "Stevie". Ruthie liked to eat at J&L in Owensville every day and visiting with her many friends. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
She is survived by: one son, Steve Fisher and his wife Glenda of Owensville; one sister, Kay Hallman of Naples, FL; three grandchildren, Lindsey, Courtney, and Jackie; thirteen great-grandchildren and many extended family members and friends.
In addition to her husband of 23 years, Ruthie was preceded in death by: one son, Brian Fisher; three grandchildren, Casey, Matthew, and Mindi; and five siblings, Elmer, Alverna, May, Zeldean, and Donald.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Christ Community Church in Owensville with Pastor Shane Jarvis officiating.
