Sharron Kay Schneider

Sharon Kay Schnieder, age 71, of Bland passed away November 13, 2024. 

Sharon was born August 25, 1953, in Pekin, Illinois, a daughter to the late Walter Jefferson and Cloie (Branson) Houston. 

On June 1, 1986, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Jerry Schnieder. Jerry preceded her in death on August 11, 2012. 

Sharon attended Pekin High School in Pekin, Illinois. She had been employed in the restaurant field most of her life as well as a stay-at-home mom. In addition to her two sons, Sharon raised her granddaughter, Cloie as her own and was very proud of the person she had become. 

Sharon enjoyed being outside at the river fishing or on a boat. She was one that never met a stranger and would strike up a conversation with a complete stranger. Sharon like sitting on her front porch, drinking her coffee, listening to old country music, and visiting with friends. She was a very giving person willing to help out anyone in need. Sharron was a great listener and one of the most non judgmental people you would ever meet. Sharon’s greatest times were spent with her family and especially her granddaughter, Cloie. She will be missed by all those that knew and loved her. 

Sharon is survived by: two sons, Walter Schneider of Bland and Jerry Schneider of Bland, her granddaughter Cloie as well as 9 other grandchildren; one great-grandchild with two on the way; and her special friend, Brandy Crider. 

In addition to her husband, and her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by a brother Leroy Houston and a niece Erin Michelle Houston. 

A celebration of life will be held on November 30, 2024 at Sassmann’s Chapel in Belle from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with a service at 1:00 p.m.. Burial will be in the Giedinghagen Cemetery near Mt. Sterling. 

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family to go towards Cloie’s college fund.
