Sheila K. Rhodes

Sheila K. Rhodes, age 70 of Bland, passed away Monday, October 3, 2016, at Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla.

Sheila was born March 6, 1946, in St. Louis, a daughter to the late Louis Rhodes, Sr. and Vera (Franklin) Rhodes.

She attended the Bland school system and was a longtime area resident.

Sheila enjoyed embroidering, playing games on her IPad, and growing flowers in her garden and playing cards with her friends at the apartment complex. She loved the outdoors, fishing, and all animals, especially her cat, Smokey. She loved spending time with her nieces and nephews and just loved all children in general. Sheila will be missed greatly by her family and friends.

Sheila is survived by: seven brothers and sisters, Marlene Franklin of San Bernardino, CA, Sharon Janey and her husband Terry of Beaufort, Louis E. Rhodes, Jr. “Bud” and his wife Kim of Bland, Mary Hafner and her husband Merv of Redbird, Nancy Willson and her husband Roger of Jefferson City, Frank Rhodes and his wife Diana of Redbird, and James Rhodes of Redbird.

In addition to her parents, Sheila was preceded in death by three sisters, Geraldine Ward, Fern Lauman, and Norma Bright.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2016, at Sassmann’s Chapel in Bland. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Oak Forest Cemetery.
