Tonia Regina Spurgeon

Tonia R. Spurgeon, age 47, of Union, formerly of Belle, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2013, at her residence with her family by her side.

Tonia was born November 28, 1966, in Rolla, a daughter to Edward Eugene and Betty Sue (Haines) Shockley. Edward preceded his daughter in death in 1994. .

On March 31, 1993, Tonia was united in marriage to Thomas J. Spurgeon in Belle. He survives of the home in Union.

Tonia was a homemaker. She was a born again Christian but spent time studying the Jehovah Witness faith. She was a garage sale fanatic and was happiest when riding either one of her two Harley Davidsons. She was a joker with a fantastic sense of humor and loved flowers. Roses were her favorite. Above all she was a very loving and caring person and will be missed by all that knew her. Her greatest joy was time spent with her family and spoiling her grandchildren.

Tonia is survived by: her mother, Betty Shockley; three sons, Robbie Marquart of Belle, Joshua Lee Thornhill of St. James, and Levi Butler of Union; one daughter, Amy Hart of Rolla; two brothers, Eddie Shockley and his wife Darla of St. James, and Matt Shockley and his wife Amy of St. James; four sisters, Kim Workman and her husband Ramey of Vichy, Pam Shockley of Rolla, Lisa Shockley of Belle and Misty Bland and her husband Rex of Freeburg; Seven grandchildren, Leah, Exzabria, Chance, Gabriel, Ethan, Carter, and Chase as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends,

She was preceded in death by her father and one sister, Tina Shockley.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2013, at Sassmann's Chapel in Belle. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be held in the Campbell Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to Tonia's family for medical and funeral expenses.
