Viola “Vi” M. Green, age 75, of Bland, passed away on July 29, 2024 at Stonebridge of Owensville.
Vi was born on June 26, 1949, in Jefferson City, a daughter to the late Everett and Clara (Mitchell) Jarvis.
She was a lifelong area resident and a 1967 graduate of Bland High School. Vi was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Sullivan.
Vi had been employed as a waitress at Siegfried Fine Foods in Owensville for over 15 years when it was open. She also worked with Mercedes Benz in St. Louis as a secretary.
Her hobbies included doing needle point, going to car shows, gardening, and planting flowers. Her faith in God was strong and she read her bible frequently. Vi was a great cook known for her fried chicken and desserts and one would never leave her house hungry. She loved getting together with the whole family and having big meals. Family was very important, and her best times were spent with them and especially her grandkids. Vi was kind and giving and always took time out for others. She will be missed greatly by her family and those that knew and loved her.
Vi is survived by: three sons, Edward Schuenemeyer and his significant other, Mitsi Campbell of Sullivan, Scott Schuenemeyer of Owensville, and Jeff Schuenemeyer and his wife April of Owensville; three grandchildren, Dakoda Schuenemeyer, Colton Schuenemeyer and his wife Angie, and Caden Schuenemeyer; and three great-grandchildren, Desmond, Mateo, and Niko as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Vi was preceded in death by three brothers, Marvin Jarvis, Melvin Jarvis, and Marion Jarvis and one sister Velma Blackwell.
Visitation for Vi will be on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Sassmann’s Chapel in Bland from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Shane Jarvis officiating. Interment will be in the Francis Cemetery near Belle.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Francis Cemetery.
